DISCIPLINE
Discipline System
Columbia's discipline policies are designed to create an environment in which all students can develop a sense of security, a sense of purpose, and a sense of personal competence.

Both the school and the residence have implemented a discipline system. Students who violate school rules are disciplined with either a demerit or a warning, depending on the severity of the violation.
3 demerits = 1 warning
3 warnings = probation
4 warnings = expulsion from the residence

Warnings are given for but not limited to:
  • Smoking
  • Drinking alcohol
  • Destroying or defacing property
  • Cheating
  • Lying to staff
  • Showing disrespect to other ethnic groups or religions
  • Harassment
  • Cooking in rooms
  • Thefts
