大学申请成功范例：麦吉尔大学商科麦吉尔大学（McGill University）一直是Kirill Bondarchuk心目中的理想大学。他在今年4月收到了几所大学发出的录取通知书，其中就包括麦吉尔大学商学院。他还获得了这所大学颁发的$6,000加元的奖学金。9月初，他就将前往具有欧洲风情的蒙特利尔，进入麦吉尔大学深造。
Kirill出生于俄罗斯的符拉迪沃斯托克市（Vladivostok），赴加拿大留学之前一直就读于该市最具声望的学校，是班上最出色的学生之一。他2009年入读于哥伦比亚国际学院，加入这个由世界各国学生组成的国际化大家庭。他的目标非常明确：通过努力进入加拿大顶尖大学。

毕业舞会盛况空前 750名学生参加如果你问哥伦比亚国际学院的学生对2012年的毕业舞会印象，他们的回答很可能是“最美好的夜晚”或者是“我真希望也参加了”。的确，今年的毕业晚宴与舞会规模空前：多达750名学生参加，称之为“终生难忘夜晚”毫不夸张。
2012年毕业晚宴与舞会4月27日晚6:30在位于Stony Creek 的Grand Olympia Banquet Hall正式开始。学生们女生们身着晚礼服，风采夺目；男生们穿上笔挺的正装，风度翩翩。他们步入宴会大厅，一改往常清纯的学生打扮，显得成熟稳重。
校园爱心涌动 捐赠食品1600磅在最近三周，哥伦比亚国际学院的师生又开展了一项慈善活动 —— 收集非生鲜食品（non-perishable food），捐赠给汉密尔顿食物银行（food bank） 。Brandon Lewis老师执教的领袖才能与朋辈支持课程（GPP3O）的学生从去年开始发起这项活动。我们骄傲地宣布，今年全校捐赠的食物重量达到1600磅，比去年超出100磅！
Ou先生执教的ENG 3U班级收集了近400的食物，赢得爱心冠军。Kennedy女士执教的ENG3U班级在去年曾获冠军，今年收集食物近300磅，屈居第二。作为奖励，这两个班级的师生都享用了美味的比萨饼和冰淇淋。
2012春季才艺秀记录4月20日哥伦比亚国际学院春季才艺秀。师生踊跃参加这次活动，节目精彩纷呈，现场高潮迭起。音乐老师Lawlis与乐队演奏了欢快的乐曲，Newman博士最后一次在才艺秀中担任合唱团指挥；师生乐团同台演唱的《Wake Up》将现场气氛推至顶峰...…

2012冬季学期表彰典礼4月26日下午，哥伦比亚国际学院学生发展部在体育馆隆重举办2012冬季学期颁奖典礼，表彰在汉密尔顿市社区及学校俱乐部及体育活动中表现突出的学生。颁奖现场气氛热烈，观众席不时传来欢声尖叫，为获奖师生喝彩。
体育馆以大幅色彩鲜明的海报作为颁奖台的背景，海报上写着“智慧，责任感，多元化”等优秀学生所具备的品格特征。获奖学生登台领取证书后，在聚光灯前拍照留念。

应届毕业生陆续获得大学录取通知与往年春季一样，许多即将从哥伦比亚国际学院毕业的学生已经陆续收到加拿大、美国、英国等国家大学的录取通知书，包括几名刚获得加拿大顶级商学院——约克大学舒力克商学院（Schulich School of Business, York University）录取的优秀毕业生：

AWD4M Applied Art Design（实用艺术设计）是安省12年级预科课程。在哥伦比亚国际学院的艺术教室中，通常可以看到这样的场景：教室里听不到喧哗声，同学们都在安安静静、聚精会神地设计艺术作品。有些学生在认真地练习透视技巧，还有些学生在细心研究20世纪经典建筑图片，为作品寻找灵感。每个人的素描本上都涂满了草图和笔记。
AWD4M课程的教师Story女士表示，学生们的艺术偏好五花八门，修读这门课程的目的也不尽相同。有些是兴趣使然，或是寻求心灵平静；还有些视艺术为沟通的途径，将其当成改变世界的强大工具。无论动机如何，每个学生都全心投入，毫不懈怠。
我校顶尖成功学生Stephanie Luk是个文静的女生，她的气质给见到她的每一个人都留下了深刻印象。Luk仅用了短短9个月的时间便完成了她在哥伦比亚的学习，她的人生因此而改变。Luk以谦虚的态度对待自己所取得的成就。在哥伦比亚学习期间，Luk从一个对未来毫无打算的年轻女孩，蜕变成了一名有志成为一名护士、将毕生精力用于帮助他人的年轻人。
探寻全新开始
成功第二次机会Suhashini Rajkumar是我校2010年5月毕业生。她是“第二次成功”的典范。Rajkumar于2009年秋季学期进入哥伦比亚学习。在此之前，她的梦想是进入麦克马斯特大学，这个梦想对于当时的她而言似乎很难实现。时至今日，她的美梦已经成真。Rajkumar将于今年秋天进入她梦寐以求的麦克马斯特大学学习。
成功之旅2010年5月毕业生陈岸是一个谦逊的年轻人，他充满自信与梦想。他希望改变世界，因此他从改变自我做起。陈岸是毕业班学生中的佼佼者，他的故事印证了刻苦的学习和坚定的决心总会得到回报。2008年的秋天，陈岸向父母保证：他会成功的。他信守承诺，并也已被多所世界名牌大学所录取，包括他计划攻读会计本科学位的波士顿大学。
机遇千载难逢
哥伦比亚国际学院学生被世界顶尖大学录取2010年4月1日，我校学生徐夏喆（Tracy Xu）同学的思绪完全被大学包围着。上课时，她满怀兴奋而焦虑的复杂心情，心中只有一个念头——立即回家打开电脑。徐夏喆的未来被添上了新的一笔，她正焦急地等待时钟走到下午4点。因为在4点，她就能知道自己是否已被梦寐以求的大学所录取。
今年，大学所收到的申请数量已创纪录。事实证明，今年顶尖大学的入学竞争空前激烈。徐夏喆明白自己是一名优秀学生，但是她并不知道自己所申请的大学中，哪所大学会给予她2010年9月的录取资格。她很快就能找到答案。

Ms. Luyun Zhong Qiao
Math Teacher
Ms. Luyun Zhong Qiao has been working as a Math teacher at Columbia since 1993. Prior to joining Columbia’s dedicated and committed staff, she taught Mathematics overseas for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She enjoys reading and is a Math enthusiast; especially in trigonometry and geometry.
Ms. Qiao is dedicated and committed to finding new ways of teaching students to understand and solve complex math problems. She is “always proud when she sees her students participate and excel in various external Math competitions.”
To date, she recalls how proud and excited she was when she learnt that one of her students had scored a 100% on the Descartes Math contest and also he was one of the only two students who obtained a perfect score in the whole of Canada.
