Awards and Scholarships
Principal's Scholarship
Three scholarships of $2000 awarded in May and December to the top 4U graduates with at least 85% average in the best six credits, and with at least 80% in 4U English.

Governor General's Medal
This is awarded each academic calendar year (from June to May) to the graduating student with the highest academic average in the best 6 4U courses completed in that year. Student receives a medal from the Governor General of Canada.

Lieutenant Governor's Community Volunteer Award
The award recognizes an exemplary volunteer among the graduating students.  It pays tribute to those students who not only complete the number of volunteer hours required to graduate, but who go above and beyond.

Ontario Scholars
Graduating students who obtain an average of 80% in six 4U credits may be designated as Ontario Scholars.  These students receive an Ontario Scholar Certificate and a letter of congratulations from the Ontario Ministry of Education.

Harold Mills Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Mr. Harold Mills, Principal of Columbia International College from 1984-1992, and Principal Emeritus from 1993-2000.  Three scholarships of $1000 are awarded annually, one each in May, July, and December to each semester's top 4U graduate in the Arts and Social Science streams. Recipients will be selected by department heads and approved by the Principal

Chan Kotecha Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Mr. Chan Kotecha a long-serving teacher and head of the Business Department, $500 is awarded annually, upon the recommendation of Columbia International College's Business Department, in May to a graduating student entering Year I of a Business Program at a recognized Canadian University. A certificate of merit is given with the award.

Sylvia Park Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Sylvia Park, a graduate of Columbia International College, whose courage and determination throughout her battle with leukemia were an inspiration to all.  Three scholarships of $500 each are awarded in December, May, and July to a graduating student who is an Ontario scholar and who demonstrated leadership through Student Council, Columbia Crew, Prefect System, or any co-curricular activity at Columbia.  Recipient must be recommended by the Student Development Office.

Tan Ke Yan Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Tan Ke Yan whose tragic passing on March 13, 2004 moved us all deeply. One scholarship of $500 is awarded in May to the top graduating student entering a computer science program in a Canadian University.

Scarfone Hawkins LLP English Proficiency Award
$500 presented annually in May to the student chosen by the English Department to be most improved in a senior English course

Sodexho Scholarships
Three scholarships of $1000 awarded annually, one each in December, May, and July, to each semester's top 4U graduate in the Math and Science streams. Recipients will be selected by department heads and approved by the Principal.

Robert Schwab Chartered Accountant Award
Three awards of $375 awarded annually, one each in December, May, and July, to each semester's top 4U graduate in the Business Department

Community awards
Two $500 awards are presented annually, one each to a male and a female graduating student chosen by Residence Management as having made significant contributions to the Columbia Residence Community.

Rita Bosas Memorial Bursary
In memory of Mrs. Rita Bosas, a long serving teacher and ESL Department Head, $100 is awarded each 9-week semester to the ESL student who has shown the greatest improvement due to academic support. This student will be selected by the ESL Department head based upon the recommendation of teachers.
