Summer Camp Graduates

ESL Summer Camp Program Features

All Our Programs Include:

All accommodation during the program

Leadership Training at Bark Lake

Transportation to and from all activities

Admission fees for all scheduled program activities

Columbia T-Shirt, Columbia Binder and Certificate of Completion

English Classes

  • Small interactive classes of 15 to 20 students
  • Beginner to Advanced English Levels
  • Taught by Certified Teachers
  • Language Labs for students to practise speaking and listening skills
  • Enhance English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • 15 to 30 hours per week

Half-day Trips

ESL summer camp students will visit historical landmarks and attractions in Hamilton and the surrounding areas including:

  • McMaster University Walking Tour
  • Westdale Village Walking Tour
  • Crawford Lake Hike and Longhouse Tour
  • Dundurn Castle Tour

Full-day Trips

On weekends and public holidays, ESL summer camp students will visit popular Canadian attractions including:

  • Niagara Falls
  • Canada's Paramount Wonderland
  • Medieval Times
  • CN Tower
  • Marineland and more…

Evening Activities

The fun never ends! On weekday evenings, ESL summer camp students will participate in evening recreational activities and trips such as:

  • Cinema
  • Mini-Putting Golf
  • Wagner's Beach
  • Burlington Tour
  • Limeridge Mall and more…

Half-day Activities

ESL summer camp students may enrol in full-day ESL or half-day ESL. Summer campers who enrol in half-day ESL will take part in the following activities for the other half of the day.

Arts

  • Under the guidance of Arts instructors ESL summer campers express their creative side through various art and craft projects such as painting, face masks designing, dream catchers, etc.

Computers

  • ESL summer campers will discover and explore the world of computers through building robots, and learning cool techniques using Photoshop® and other fun software programs!

Science

  • ESL Summer campers will test the laws of physics by launching plastic bottle rockets and use scientific experiments to actually make apple pie and ice cream! You never knew science could be so much fun!

Sports

  • ESL Summer campers will learn and play some new Canadian sports such as lacrosse and baseball and some more familiar sports. All sports and recreational activities are professionally coordinated to encourage the full participation of all summer camp students regardless of their athletic ability.

    • On the Wonderland trip, due to the large size of the amusement park and the various interests of our summer campers, they are required to buy their own lunch and dinner at a time that is convenient for them
