Senior Boarding Program
Residence Life Program
- Columbia's Residence Life Program provides a home away from home for international students in Canada
- It has been designed to assist boarding high school students in the achievement of their academic, social, emotional and physical success
- All boarding high school students are expected to apply and integrate their individual talents and interests for the benefit of their personal development and community wellbeing
- The Residence Life Program prepares boarding prep school students for residence life in university
Weekend Programming
- The Weekend Program includes:
- Outdoor Trips and Excursions
- Leadership, Technology, Sports and Cultural Awareness activities
- When students participate in this curriculum, they engage in learning through fun and develop solid skills in living, learning, organization and leadership
Life Coach for Young Students
- Students 15 years of age and under (Grades 9 & 10) are placed in different wings or floors known as the First-Years Center
- Pine Hall: South Wing
- Linden Hall: 8th and 9th floors
- A designated Senior Advisor is assigned to our young students
- The Senior Advisor has his/her living quarters within the First-Years Center
- The Senior Advisor:
- Provides academic support for students who need help
- Cares for and assists students to follow and accomplish the tasks within their daily schedule
- Helps younger students to make a smoother transition into the boarding school environment
- Organizes and facilitates extracurricular activities
- Supports, mentors and ensures that students have an overall healthy wellbeing
- The First-Years Center provides an opportunity for our younger students (Grades 9 & 10) to live in an environment where they go through age-appropriate activities, schedules and experiences with students in a similar age group
