University Placement Assurance Support System (uPASS)

Columbia's uPASS is committed to diligently helping each student fulfill their dream of entering top universities in Canada and the world. To do this:

• Our University Placement Office provides the most comprehensive and accurate university admission requirements.
• We conduct workshops to teach students how to properly complete their application forms and ensure the applications are submitted on time.
• We provide three University Placement Officers to guide our university preparatory students to choose and get admitted to the best possible universities and their programs of choice.

Our University Placement Officers provide the following for our students:

Guidance for graduating students

• Design customized study plans for university preparatory students to meet their university objectives
• Research and advise students to select the most appropriate universities for them

Assistance with Application Process

• Ensure the required documentation is completed and submitted before the university application deadline
• Arrange conditional letters of acceptance from our University Partners^®
• Obtain letters of recommendation for students from teachers, the Principal and Guidance Counsellors
• Arrange personal interviews with registrars, faculty deans and admissions officers of universities when necessary
• Assist students to schedule for external tests such as TOEFL, MELAB, IELTS, CAEL, SAT, and AP

Events to Better Inform Graduates

• Organize and host our own University Fair at school to enable university preparatory students to get first-hand information conveniently and directly
• Invite over 50 prestigious universities to visit Columbia every year to conduct personal interviews with our graduates
• Run information sessions for smaller groups of students to guide them with the application process for universities in Ontario, Canada, USA, UK and worldwide
• Host career oriented workshops where professionals describe their job duties, share their work experiences with and answer questions from students
• Hold Guidance Series sessions that teaches university preparatory students various skills including time management and study skills for success in university
