4月10日，多倫多大學密西沙加校區（University of Toronto Mississauga，簡稱UTM）與加拿大哥倫比亞國際學院（Columbia International College）正式簽署合作協議，為其畢業生特設入學獎學金。這是UTM歷史上首次為特定一所學校設立入學獎學金。協議具體措施包括：

我校連續十年膺“校內體育傑出獎”哥倫比亞國際學院最近獲得2012-2013年度安大略省“校內體育傑出獎”（Outstanding Intramural Achievement Award），體育教師Freddy Velazquez也因在組織校內體育活動中起到的領導作用受到表彰。
安省今年共有44所學校獲此殊榮，這也是我校第十年連續得獎。
大學申請成功範例：舒力克商學院（續）商科歷來是哥倫比亞國際學院學生報考的熱門專業之一，每年均有眾多學生考入多倫多大學羅特曼商學院（Rotman）、西安大略大學毅偉商學院（Ivey）與約克大學舒力克商學院（Schulich）等一流商科院校。以舒力克商學院為例：截止5月23日，今年已有四位學獲得錄取通知，包括Rosemary Kamau。
Rosemary來自肯比亞，2012年8月進入哥倫比亞就讀預科課程，今年5月畢業。收到舒力克商學院錄取信後，她欣喜萬分，“不相信這是真的”。她表示，錄取通知不僅等於有機會進入大學，更說明了她“有能力獲得成功”。
四月ESL優秀學生頒獎哥倫比亞國際學院5月16日為四月份在ESL英語學習中取得優秀成績的學生頒獎。英語教研組長Galea先生，高中部校長Baker女士為他們頒獎，並鼓勵他們繼續努力，天天向上。四名獲獎學生的學習經驗如下：
• Pablo Li (ESLBO)：上課認真聽講，課後認真復習
• Mengzi Jiang (ESLCO)：仔細聽課，每天復習
• Deliequjie Deliequjie (ESLDO)：努力用功，多閱讀英語讀物
• Weikai Gu (EOA4Z)：每天按時完成作業，多說多練
這些學生的學習經驗雖然簡單，卻非常有效，值得借鑒。哥倫比亞向他們表示衷心祝賀！
5月10日哥倫比亞國際學院的畢業典禮上，一名叫Yang YuMeng的女生特別引人註目：她高中八門課程成績（包括CIAA4U與MDM4U兩門預科課程）取得滿分100%，榮獲加拿大總督獎（Governor General’s Medal）。除了加拿大總督獎之外，Yumeng還獲得校長獎學金與單科最高分獎等殊榮。
Yumeng已獲得以下大學院系錄取，並獲總計逾$30,000加元的入學獎學金：
- 滑鐵盧大學數學院 入學獎學金$8,000

熱心參與社區服務也是Yumeng獲獎的重要因素之一。她在校期間參加“希望之路馬拉松”、“為ALS病步行”等慈善活動，積累了70個小時的義工時間。
哥倫比亞國際學院5月10日舉行的畢業典禮上，代表畢業生致詞的大家熟悉的優秀學生代表 —— Malak El Allaki與Abdul Wahab。他們的演講體現了全體畢業生的共同心聲：即對美好的未來大學生活充滿憧憬，又對相處已久的的老師和同學依依不舍。
Malak的演講充分地表現了她的個性：風趣機智、積極樂觀。她感謝哥倫比亞幫助她克服對獨自離家、出國留學的畏懼心理。她表示，與來自五湖四海的同窗朝夕相處，使她感受到家庭般的溫暖。
五月畢業盛典 五百學子圓夢5月10日，加拿大哥倫比亞國際學院為今年首批畢業的537名學生舉行了盛大畢業典禮。這批畢業生的人數不僅是哥倫比亞建校34年來最多的，在安大略省也排名第一。
200多名家長、校友與教育界代表參加了在漢密爾頓市會展中心舉行的畢業典禮。七所加拿大頂尖大學的系主任與領導到場觀禮，並為畢業生頒發證書與獎狀。這些大學包括（排名不分先後）：
優等生晉升藤校 立誌改變世界在哥倫比亞國際學院5月10日舉辦的畢業招待會上，來自蘇丹的女生Rowa El-Tohami代表學生致詞，歡迎家長與教育界人士。她以近95%的預科平均成績畢業，完成共計100小時的義工時間，獲得美國常春藤聯盟哥倫比亞大學等幾所高校錄取。
Rowa對哥倫比亞的全面照顧教育®給予了高度評價，並將預科階段的學習比喻為“實現夢想的階梯”。她贊揚了教職員的敬業精神，還稱Susin女士等幾位老師是“一生中遇見的最優秀的”。
畢業生家長招待會 市長贊哥倫比亞貢獻5月10日上午，哥倫比亞國際學院舉辦場特別招待會，歡迎參加5月畢業典禮的家長與教育界同仁。漢密爾頓市長Bob Bratina、經濟發展與房地產主任Neil Everson作為嘉賓致詞，贊揚哥倫比亞對本地經濟與文化發展做出的貢獻。
Bratina先生首先用普通話向來賓表示歡迎。他簡要概述漢密爾頓市的歷史與現狀，以實例舉證了哥倫比亞學生的多元化背景，將其比喻為“漢密爾頓市教育界的真正財富”（a true jewel），贊揚了哥倫比亞執行總裁Clement Chan先生的國際化教育理念。
熱心做公益 學生受嘉獎哥倫比亞國際學院12年級學生Krystal Sade Reynolds最近受到嘉獎：她因在家鄉牙買加首都金士頓（Kingston）熱心投身義工服務，獲得該國政府I.M.G公益基金頒發的高中獎學金$5000美元。
Krystal幾年前就開始與牙買加的救世軍（Salvation Army）聯手組織聖誕公益活動，引起媒體關註。《Jamaican Gleaner》稱她“有一顆金子般的心”。

Business Department Head
B.A, M.A (Economics) & Diploma in Early Childhood Education
In 2002, Mrs. Renuka Arun joined Columbia and she currently serves as a teacher and Head of the Business Department. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a diploma in Early Childhood Care Education. Prior to working at Columbia, she taught overseas for 17 years.
Having students from over 55 nations, Mrs. Arun believes that Columbia is a true reflection of Canada’s multiculturalism and CIC provides both students and staff the opportunity to relate to and appreciate the diverse cultures within the school community.
For Mrs. Arun, “The Total Care Education System® emphasizes on continuous improvement to stay abreast with the needs of international students. We encourage a lot of teamwork among different departments to improve on the quality of the programs we offer. We take a lot of pride and responsibility in our work.”
