5月11日，哥倫比亞國際學院為5月份畢業生舉行了盛大的畢業典禮。來自全球各國的500多名莘莘學子實現晉升一流大學的夢想，又一次以事實驗證了加拿大教育體系的成功之處。
由於今年5月畢業人數創下建校30多年來的紀錄，畢業典禮是在漢密爾頓市會展中心舉辦的。大廳內氣氛莊重，地上鋪著紅地毯，臺上布滿鮮花。三面印有哥倫比亞國際學院字樣的橘紅色旗幟與印有加拿大頂尖大學校徽的旗幟並排懸掛。
大學申請成功範例：麥吉爾大學商科麥吉爾大學（McGill University）一直是Kirill Bondarchuk心目中的理想大學。他在今年4月收到了幾所大學發出的錄取通知書，其中就包括麥吉爾大學商學院。他還獲得了這所大學頒發的$6,000加元的獎學金。9月初，他就將前往具有歐洲風情的蒙特利爾，進入麥吉爾大學深造。
Kirill出生於俄羅斯的符拉迪沃斯托克市（Vladivostok），赴加拿大留學之前一直就讀於該市最具聲望的學校，是班上最出色的學生之一。他2009年入讀於哥倫比亞國際學院，加入這個由世界各國學生組成的國際化大家庭。他的目標非常明確：通過努力進入加拿大頂尖大學。

畢業舞會盛況空前 750名學生參加如果你問哥倫比亞國際學院的學生對2012年的畢業舞會印象，他們的回答很可能是“最美好的夜晚”或者是“我真希望也參加了”。的確，今年的畢業晚宴與舞會規模空前：多達750名學生參加，稱之為“終生難忘夜晚”毫不誇張。
2012年畢業晚宴與舞會4月27日晚6:30在位於Stony Creek 的Grand Olympia Banquet Hall正式開始。學生們女生們身著晚禮服，風采奪目；男生們穿上筆挺的正裝，風度翩翩。他們步入宴會大廳，一改往常清純的學生打扮，顯得成熟穩重。
校園愛心湧動 捐贈食品1600磅在最近三周，哥倫比亞國際學院的師生又開展了一項慈善活動 —— 收集非生鮮食品（non-perishable food），捐贈給漢密爾頓食物銀行（food bank） 。Brandon Lewis老師執教的領袖才能與朋輩支持課程（GPP3O）的學生從去年開始發起這項活動。我們驕傲地宣布，今年全校捐贈的食物重量達到1600磅，比去年超出100磅！
Ou先生執教的ENG 3U班級收集了近400的食物，贏得愛心冠軍。Kennedy女士執教的ENG3U班級在去年曾獲冠軍，今年收集食物近300磅，屈居第二。作為獎勵，這兩個班級的師生都享用了美味的比薩餅和冰淇淋。
2012春季才藝秀記錄4月20日哥倫比亞國際學院春季才藝秀。師生踴躍參加這次活動，節目精彩紛呈，現場高潮叠起。音樂老師Lawlis與樂隊演奏了歡快的樂曲，Newman博士最後一次在才藝秀中擔任合唱團指揮；師生樂團同臺演唱的《Wake Up》將現場氣氛推至頂峰...…

2012冬季學期頒獎典禮4月26日下午，哥倫比亞國際學院學生發展部在體育館隆重舉辦2012冬季學期頒獎典禮，表彰在漢密爾頓市社區及學校俱樂部及體育活動中表現突出的學生。頒獎現場氣氛熱烈，觀眾席不時傳來歡聲尖叫，為獲獎師生喝彩。
體育館以大幅色彩鮮明的海報作為頒獎臺的背景，海報上寫著“智慧，責任感，多元化”等優秀學生所具備的品格特征。獲獎學生登臺領取證書後，在聚光燈前拍照留念。
應屆畢業生陸續獲得大學錄取通知與往年春季一樣，許多即將從哥倫比亞國際學院畢業的學生已經陸續收到加拿大、美國、英國等國家大學的錄取通知書，包括幾名剛獲得加拿大頂級商學院——約克大學舒力克商學院（Schulich School of Business, York University）錄取的優秀畢業生：

AWD4M Applied Art Design（實用藝術設計）是安省12年級預科課程。在哥倫比亞國際學院的藝術教室中，通常可以看到這樣的場景：教室裏聽不到喧嘩聲，同學們都在安安靜靜、聚精會神地設計藝術作品。有些學生在認真地練習透視技巧，還有些學生在細心研究20世紀經典建築圖片，為作品尋找靈感。每個人的素描本上都塗滿了草圖和筆記。
AWD4M課程的教師Story女士表示，學生們的藝術偏好五花八門，修讀這門課程的目的也不盡相同。有些是興趣使然，或是尋求心靈平靜；還有些視藝術為溝通的途徑，將其當成改變世界的強大工具。無論動機如何，每個學生都全心投入，毫不懈怠。
我校顶尖成功学生Stephanie Luk是个文静的女生，她的气质给见到她的每一个人都留下了深刻印象。Luk仅用了短短9个月的时间便完成了她在哥伦比亚的学习，她的人生因此而改变。Luk以谦虚的态度对待自己所取得的成就。在哥伦比亚学习期间，Luk从一个对未来毫无打算的年轻女孩，蜕变成了一名有志成为一名护士、将毕生精力用于帮助他人的年轻人。
探寻全新开始
成功第二次机会Suhashini Rajkumar是我校2010年5月毕业生。她是“第二次成功”的典范。Rajkumar于2009年秋季学期进入哥伦比亚学习。在此之前，她的梦想是进入麦克马斯特大学，这个梦想对于当时的她而言似乎很难实现。时至今日，她的美梦已经成真。Rajkumar将于今年秋天进入她梦寐以求的麦克马斯特大学学习。
成功之旅2010年5月毕业生陈岸是一个谦逊的年轻人，他充满自信与梦想。他希望改变世界，因此他从改变自我做起。陈岸是毕业班学生中的佼佼者，他的故事印证了刻苦的学习和坚定的决心总会得到回报。2008年的秋天，陈岸向父母保证：他会成功的。他信守承诺，并也已被多所世界名牌大学所录取，包括他计划攻读会计本科学位的波士顿大学。
机遇千载难逢
哥伦比亚国际学院学生被世界顶尖大学录取2010年4月1日，我校学生徐夏喆（Tracy Xu）同学的思绪完全被大学包围着。上课时，她满怀兴奋而焦虑的复杂心情，心中只有一个念头——立即回家打开电脑。徐夏喆的未来被添上了新的一笔，她正焦急地等待时钟走到下午4点。因为在4点，她就能知道自己是否已被梦寐以求的大学所录取。
今年，大学所收到的申请数量已创纪录。事实证明，今年顶尖大学的入学竞争空前激烈。徐夏喆明白自己是一名优秀学生，但是她并不知道自己所申请的大学中，哪所大学会给予她2010年9月的录取资格。她很快就能找到答案。

Ms. Diana Karan
Head of ESL Department
Ms. Diana Karan taught English and French at Columbia for 7 years until she was appointed the Head of the ESL Department in 1999.
She is an ESL Specialist with Honours Undergraduate degrees in French, English and Education. She also holds an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate and a diploma in Pedagogy.
As a staff who has served Columbia for 16 years, she always finds it “rewarding to see new students who come to CIC with very low English skills effectively improve on their English proficiency after taking a short nine-week semester ESL course.”
Ms. Karan states with great pride that,
