CIC Fencing Club had an incredible opportunity to visit McMaster University and watch the varsity fencing team in action during practice.
Our students met with McMaster Fencing Team and Coaches Dave and Allan, gaining valuable insights into strategy, technique, and what it truly means to train with purpose and discipline.
From learning how to approach a bout to understanding the importance of structured training, it was an inspiring and educational experience for everyone involved.

We’re also proud to mention that Aiaz Shaikhutdinov, Grade 12, who founded the CIC Fencing Club, recently won a silver medal at the OFA Youth Junior Circuit #3 Fencing Competition last week.
Through his coaching, Aiaz is helping bring the sport of fencing closer to his peers – creating opportunities for students to learn, practice, and grow together while building a fencing community at CIC.
