A number of Columbia International College’s top academic achievers were recognized this week for their exceptional performance in two elite Canadian math contests last semester.
Students who wrote the Canadian Senior Math Contest from the University of Waterloo, and the Canadian Open Math Challenge from Sun Life Financial in partnership with University of Toronto, and who scored in the top 25% of all participants were presented with a certificate of distinction.
Mr. Rambarran, Principal,Mr. Putt, Head of Senior School, Ms. Markuc, Head of Mathematics, and Mr. Luymes, Math Teacher, were on hand to congratulate the top achieving students. They were also thrilled to learn that two Columbia students – Song, Jie, and Meng, Fanxing – scored above average of all competitors and were awarded with special medals and plaques. The school also received a plaque for having one of the highest scoring students in the competition.
