Awarding Excellence

Award recipientsColumbia’s students and staff gathered in the Ainsliewood Gym on Wednesday afternoon to honour those who excelled in clubs, groups and extracurricular activities this semester’s Award Ceremony. Activity advisors and teachers were in attendance to present award recipients with a certificate of achievement and medals to those involved in athletics. Hosted by the Student Development Department, the awards are a bi-annual tradition that highlights the exceptional contribution of students to the Columbia and Hamilton community.

Distributed Awards
Students were recognized for their efforts and contributions in extracurricular activities and given awards in five categories:
• Outstanding Achievement in Clubs
• Community Service Awards
• Athletic Awards
• Special Awards
• Overall Contribution

Character Building
Columbia’s clubs and extracurricular activities give students opportunities to acquire strong leadership skills and become well-rounded responsible Global Citizens. Along with giving students opportunities to engage outside the classroom, these fun activities provide a means to gain meaningful and healthy social interaction.
