On August 20, CIC students stepped beyond campus to become part of the local community, volunteering at Hamilton’s beloved annual Dundas Cactus Parade as part of their student orientation experience.
Embracing Community Spirit and Traditions

Bringing vibrant energy and school culture to the community, CIC student volunteers helped carry official parade banners and cheered alongside spectators lining the route.

The initiative provided incoming students with a welcoming introduction to Hamilton, allowing them to experience local culture firsthand while actively engaging with the neighborhood they now call home.
Fostering Global Citizenship Through Action

Participating in local festivals helps international students integrate smoothly into Canadian life and appreciate the unique heritage of the area.
Through the school’s ongoing community engagement initiatives, students are encouraged to step forward, make a positive impact, and build meaningful connections within the region.
A Proud Tradition for Over a Decade

CIC extends its sincere appreciation to the Dundas Cactus Parade organizers. Having proudly participated in this wonderful community tradition since 2014, our students are consistently welcomed and warmly received by the local Hamilton community.
