  Columbia International College (CIC) held its third graduation ceremony in 2024 on December 13, celebrating another group of graduates have worked hard to reach this milestone! The Graduation Day was a heartwarming celebration, filled with proud moments and warm congratulations. It stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of our students and the transformative impact of Total Care Education in helping families from many corners of the world achieve their dreams. Our graduates have succeeded academically, made strong social connections, engaged in extracurricular clubs and activities, and demonstrated outstanding character values and leadership skills. Graduation is an exciting time as it marks both an ending and a new beginning to your unfolding educational story. Congratulations! Representatives from CIC’s University Partners were present at the ceremony, showcasing their unwavering support and cheering for our graduates.

Each year, these esteemed institutions frequently visit CIC to host application workshops and provide invaluable guidance. From exclusive scholarships tailored for CIC graduates to special admission privileges, including IELTS/TOEFL exemptions, our University Partners play a key role in paving a smooth and secure path for students as they transition to their post-secondary journeys. Paul Armstrong, President of Mohawk College, one of Canada’s largest public colleges, delivered a thought-provoking speech. Highlighting the rapid advancements in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, automation, and new energy, he acknowledged the tremendous changes shaping our world. President Armstrong commended CIC for equipping graduates with a solid foundation to face the complexities of the future with confidence. He encouraged graduates to remain curious, foster meaningful communication, and embrace lifelong learning as they step into a ever-evolving global society. Tsz Him Wong, this year’s Valedictorian, delivered an inspiring speech at the graduation ceremony. Since joining CIC in 2021 as a Grade 9 student, Tsz Him has excelled in both academics and extracurriculars, participating in varsity badminton, athletic council, and intramural sports, while earning numerous subject awards and achieving success in math contests. With over 180 hours of community service, he exemplified compassion and leadership. In his speech, Tsz Him encouraged his fellow graduates to embrace empathy and tenacity as they embark on their future journeys to success. Ritu Pinge delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. Since arriving at CIC in August 2022, Ritu has been a compassionate leader, serving on the residence leadership team, as a character education prefect, and as the leader of the journalism club. Her humility, kindness, and organizational skills left a lasting impact on her community and peers. Ritu expressed gratitude to the Total Care department for their support and to parents for their guidance, which made the students’ study abroad journeys a success. Graduates walked proudly across the stage to receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Each graduate earned their well-deserved honor, with many attaining the prestigious title of ‘Ontario Scholar.’ A special congratulations goes to the exceptional students who achieved the highest average scores in various subjects and were awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 CAD!

The 2024 December graduating class earned a total of 17866 hours of community service. The Columbia community would like to congratulate these students on their commitment to improving the community in which they live. A heartfelt farewell to our exchange students from Mexico!
