The objective of this new policy is to keep ALL CIC STUDENTS in a safe bubble. CIC maintains the highest safety protocols for all in-person activities at school and in residences, which includes classes, meals times, trips, sports, clubs, events and other activities.  To continue to maintain our safe bubble, students will need to be vaccinated before moving into our residences.

Vaccine Available to All CIC Students

CIC has been officially authorized by Hamilton Public Health to administer COVID vaccine to all students (12+), staff and their immediate families, free of charge.  Because CIC is currently administering Pfizer for our students, the vaccines that we are recognizing as eligible first doses are Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca. If the first dose is not any of the three vaccines, the student may need to restart the vaccination process.   Students will be able to receive their first or second dose during quarantine at CIC.   In order for students to be vaccinated during quarantine, parents must submit a COVID-19 Vaccination Consent (link to PDF) before students arrive in Residence for quarantine.

CIC Vaccination Policy for Residence Explained

To be allowed to stay at one of CIC’s residences, all students arriving to residence must either:
  • Have been fully vaccinated with a Health Canada or WHO approved vaccine prior to move-in or;
  • Have received their first dose of a Health Canada or WHO approved vaccine prior to move-in AND consent to receiving their second dose/revaccination or;
