The Fall Semester has been a time of incredible growth for our University of Toronto Elite Pathway Partnership (EPP) students. Through opportunities such as hands-on job shadowing, engaging workshops, and participating in Model United Nations conferences, EPP students develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
UofT Welcome Session, Campus Tour & Workshop
Only weeks into the Fall Semester, the University of Toronto hosted an exciting welcome session for CIC’s Grade 11 students who had just begun their journey in the EPP program.
Ken Withers, Director of Student Recruitment at UofT, warmly welcomed the students and presented each with an official EPP acceptance letter.
The students also enjoyed an exclusive guided tour of the UofT St. George Campus and participated in a thought-provoking workshop on Globalization.
Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium
The EPP students and Model United Nations Team had an incredible experience traveling to Montreal for the annual Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) at McGill University.
This prestigious event provided an exceptional platform for high school students to engage with pressing global issues, think critically, and develop innovative solutions as future leaders.
Our students collaborated with peers from around the world, engaging in meaningful debates, drafting resolutions, and voting on actionable solutions within simulated United Nations committees.
Hands-on Job Shadowing
The EPP students dived into their future career paths with incredible hands-on experiences.
From shadowing an Ontario judge at the Burlington courthouse to connecting with the Hamilton Ti-Cats marketing team, our students had a firsthand look into their future professions.
A HUGE thank you to all the professionals who opened their doors to inspire and mentor the next generation!
Guest Speaker Session
Our EPP students had the privilege of learning from Dr. Xiaohui Jin of the Ontario Clean Water Agency. Through his expertise in engineering, chemistry, and biology, Dr. Jin shared valuable insights into the processes that keep Ontario’s water supply safe. He also inspired our students with his educational journey, showing the path to providing essential services for the community.
