Games Day 2015

Last Wednesday, students flooded the back field for their opportunity to participate in Columbia’s annual Games Day.

Students participated in engaging and fun activities that tested both their athleticism and analytical skills including:

  • Human foosball
  • Rock climbing
  • Mini putt
  • Wipeout Sweeper challenge
  • Bean bag toss
  • Ball and spoon race
  • and many more!

Members of the Student Development team, and of the school’s student leadership teams – Athletic Prefects, School Prefects, Student Council and Residence Council – organized and managed the activities throughout the day. Along with explaining game rules, they cheered on students and ensured everyone had an enjoyable experience.

Promoting character

While Games Day promotes school spirit and encourages the school community to come together, it also strives to teach students principles of our character education: fair play, teamwork, inclusiveness, perseverance, and positive conflict resolution.

The Games Day tradition began in 1999 and has since become one of the most popular school events during the fall semester’s Spirit Week.

Thank you to the Student Development department, student leaders and staff who organized this year’s Games Day.
