Meet Isabelle Wong, CIC ’23 from Singapore! She believes that her CIC journey has paved her way to step out of comfort zone, challenge her limits, and take the initiative to form lifelong friendships.

Isabelle:

“I must admit that during the earlier phases of flying into Canada, being surrounded by an unfamiliar environment, strangers, and a new culture seemed daunting to me. Fortunately, I am blessed to have such amazing family and friends who help me cope with my daily stressors and bouts of homesickness.

I am immensely grateful to my family for trusting me and investing their time and effort in sending me abroad to gain valuable experience and pursue overseas education. Not to mention my friends, who often tolerate my energy surges and dips, and play a crucial role in my high school life.

CIC is an international school. I love the diversity and constant cultural exchanges that occur among students from different parts of the globe. Learning more about their cultures and beliefs has allowed me to better appreciate our differences and forge invaluable friendships that I am grateful for beyond words.

My greatest achievement at CIC has been meeting new people and forming friendships with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. Although this achievement may not be tangible, I personally feel that it is the most important and impactful to me.”

Isabelle has received acceptance offers from prestigious universities, accompanied by generous scholarship offers. Congratulations!
