Nuestra clinica ha tratado algunos alumnos que han presentado síntomas de influenza y CIC está preparado a tomar el Total Care de cualquier estudiante/personal quien pudiera obtener el flu estacional o el H1N1. El personal que trabaja en nuestra clinica, trabajará muy de cerca con el Departamento de Salud Pública de Hamilton, con el personal que laboran en las residencias, y con el personal de la Clinica, Dundurn Medical Clinic para proveer el mejor cuidado a cualquier estudiante/personal quien se enferma. El Departamento de Salud Publica de Hamilton ha realizado pruebas, asi confirmando la presencia de la virus de Influenza A y se ha declarado la existencia de la virus. Se esta haciendo mas pruebas para determinar el tipo de virus que tienen.
Con el monitoreo continuo y cuidado de nuestra enfermera y personal de la residencia, 3 de nuestros alumnos del campamento de verano se han recuperado totalmente de la flu. Solo queda un alumno en el campamento que presenta el flu (Influenza A) y este estudiante se está tratando aparte, y aislado de los demás alumnos por la seguridad de la comunidad escolar.

Mrs. Daniela Markuc
Head of Math Department / Math Teacher
Mrs. Daniela Markuc has been a staff at Columbia since 1987. She holds a degree in Mathematics and she has been teaching Mathematics in Ontario for 30 years. Prior to working at Columbia, she taught Mathematics at McMaster University where she wrote a textbook and workbook for the course she taught.
As a Math teacher and Head of the Math Department, she ensures that the Math teachers and tutors provide “superior quality lessons and academic support to every student.” In addition, she arranges for Math students to participate in external competitions organized by prestigious universities in North America.
She is proud of the students enrolled at Columbia because they are “hardworking, respectful, motivated to excel and they consistently receive scholarships, medals and pins from the competitions they participate in.”
As a teacher who has worked at Columbia for 21 years, she says with great conviction and insight to prospective and current parents and students:
