Hamilton: A Great Place To Call Home
Described as a big city with a small-town heart, Hamilton is a welcoming and peaceful community that combines the best of nature and culture, urban living and rural escape. It has internationally recognized schools, excellent health care, thriving businesses, a vibrant arts community, friendly residents, a moderate climate and beautiful natural areas. Nestled between the sandy shores of Lake Ontario and the forests of the Niagara Escarpment (which is a World Biosphere Reserve), the city has been nicknamed the waterfall capital of the world.

The mayor of Hamilton is a fan of Columbia, too.
Columbia International College has been an integral part of our city for the past 35 years. Its staff and students have made significant contributions to build up the City of Hamilton through volunteering their time and resources.
