This year’s CIC Graduation Ceremony once again welcomed a distinguished guest! Dr. Alexandra Gillespie, Vice-President of the University of Toronto and Principal of U of T Mississauga, delivered an inspiring and uplifting speech to our graduates.
Principal Gillespie noted that the road to success is not linear and that it’s okay to experience lows.
She praised CIC as one of the leading schools in Canada, whose Total Care Education program provides all-round care for students in academic, social, emotional, physical and other aspects!
Raven Pang, delivered an inspiring Valedictorian speech reflecting on his journey of transformation. Since joining CIC in 2023, he founded the Business Club and Scholars Club and served as President of both the Student Union and DECA.
Once an underestimated student who struggled in math and was told he’d never make it to college, Raven shared how coming to Canada and CIC helped him rediscover hope and possibility.
“The past does not define us,” he said. “Our choices do.”
Raven received offers from top business programs including Western Ivey, U of T Rotman, University of Edinburgh and University of Sydney, with a total scholarship amount of $425,000 CAD.
Alison Lam joined CIC in August 2022 and quickly stood out for her leadership and academic excellence. As Robotics Team captain, she showcased her passion for engineering and computer science. With a 98% average and top award in Computer Science, she earned $118,000 CAD in scholarships and offers from top universities, including Waterloo, Queen’s, Toronto, and McMaster.
Delivering the Vote of Thanks at graduation, Alison shared four heartfelt stories to remind us that growth isn’t guaranteed—it’s built on the unwavering support of CIC’s Total Care teams, parents, and those around us.
Thank you for bringing your unique voices, cultures, and dreams to our community. You’ve inspired us, challenged yourselves, and embraced every opportunity to grow—both in and beyond the classroom.
As you step into the next chapter—whether it’s university, a new adventure, or something still unfolding—we know you’ll continue to shine. Wherever life takes you, you’ll always be part of the CIC family.
To our teachers, staff, families and university partners: thank you for being the unwavering support behind each student’s success.
