Girls in front of CN TowerOn Saturday, October 18 Columbia students were challenged to show their “altitude” by participating in the 2014 Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way.

Nine girls from Pine Hall residence participated in the climb, each hoping to not only conquer all 1,776 stairs, but to raise funds to support United Way and its vital role in the community. All girls completed the climb, most reaching the end in less than 30 minutes. Those who participated included;

1. Sara Haghani 2. Daria Oleynichenko 3. Kristina Oleynichenko 4. Liza (Eliza) Getmanskaya 5. Gloria Amah 6. Emma Gutierrez 7. Yasmin Suleimenova 8. Aminata Traore 9. Alejandra Barajas 10. Angel (Marie)

The girls worked extremely hard to prepare for they climb. They trained for months by climbing the stairs in residence and those on Hamilton’s Chedoke trail.

Thank you to Ms. Simpson for climbing with the girls and thank you to Ms. Mahaffey for her support during training and the climb.

Congratulations to all those who participated!
