March break is a welcomed winter vacation for many students the country, allowing them to rest and regroup before they begin to prepare for the end of the term. Columbia International College is expanding its student Academic Support Program in residence. The Study Buddy Program is a peer academic support service designed by our Guidance Department. It is composed of a team of dedicated Columbia students who have a strong academic background and are enthusiastic about helping their peers.

Earlier this week, the Varsity Boys Indoor Soccer team was presented with a championship plaque for their 1-0 win over Saltfleet Secondary School in the Hamilton-Wentworth Interscholastic Athletic Council (HWIAC) soccer final on March 3. Columbia’s English department will be holding additional literacy workshops this week to ensure that students are well-prepared for the upcoming OSSLT on March 26. Starting today, students wishing to practice their skills can attend one of the many added workshops. Seats will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who have not yet attended a literacy workshop are encouraged to participate.
As Columbia students prepare to write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), their teachers are continuing to aid their preparation by holding additional literacy workshops and hosting fun literacy activities.
